Known as Kanjrur Dattan, it was stronghold of the Mohyals Datt clan before 1947. Diwan Laxmi Chand who owned most of the land of the tehsil lived here. It had DAV High School and an important market for the area. Famous bollywood star Dev Anand hailed from a nearby village and so also the famous Tabla player Alla Rakha and his son Zakir Hussain also came from another village nearby.
Chaudhry Bhagat Ram Dutta,Chaudhry Harnam Das Dutta, Chaudhry SN Dutta and Chaudhry GL Dutta Josh belongs to this town.

i live in kanjrur. i have heard about datts and divan luksmi chand from old people of my village. wanted to know more about after all they history of my village.
